Palm Beach County, Florida — On August 11, 2026, police responded to a hotel regarding a reported disturbance involving an intoxicated male guest. Upon arrival, an officer spoke with the front desk receptionist, who reported that a male was in the hotel bar area causing a disturbance and appeared to be intoxicated. While officers were speaking with hotel staff, the male appeared near the second-floor elevator and agreed to come downstairs to speak with police. The male told officers that an unknown female was bothering him and that he wanted her to leave. During the conversation, he became increasingly confrontational and made statements about being taken to jail and fighting officers. Police attempted to de-escalate the situation and instructed him to return to his hotel room. As the male entered the elevator, he turned toward the officers and stated that he was going to jail before charging toward an officer and grabbing the officer's police vest with both hands. Officers took the male to the ground and placed him into custody. The male was initially charged with battery on a law enforcement officer. The charge was later reduced to battery with disorderly intoxication.
