On June 4, 2025, around 2:18 a.m., a Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) officer attempted to stop an Infiniti sedan after observing it on northbound I-95 in Baltimore. The driver failed to stop, leading to a brief pursuit after exiting onto Key Highway. As the vehicle fled westbound on E. McComas Street at high speed, the driver lost control and crashed into a support pillar beneath I-95. Both the driver and passenger of the Infiniti were pronounced dead at the scene. The officer was not injured and rendered aid until emergency responders arrived.
