#CrimeCamNow On April 21, 2023, Chamblee police officers were dispatched to a reported shooting incident in Chamblee, Georgia. Upon arrival, officers found a couple standing outside a house, engaged in a heated argument. A handgun was visibly placed on the hood of a vehicle, which officers quickly secured. The officers first spoke with the woman, who explained that both she and her boyfriend worked together at KFC. She had discovered messages between him and a female coworker, leading her to believe he was cheating. In a fit of jealousy, she went to his house to retrieve her belongings and her gun. According to her, he demanded she transfer money to his daughters in exchange for the gun, which she did. He then allegedly threw away the gun case at a nearby store. She claimed that when she returned to retrieve the gun, he shot at her through a window. He then came outside with the gun, speaking on the phone, and placed it on the car hood just as the police arrived. Officers then spoke with a witness, who could not confirm who fired the shot. The woman's boyfriend provided a different story: he claimed that after he allowed her to check his phone, they argued, and she went outside, appearing to leave. According to him, she then shot at the window, prompting him to call the police. Further investigation, including a house search, revealed that the shot was fired from outside, contradicting the woman's initial statement. When confronted, her story shifted. She now claimed they were both outside when he shot at the window and that she then shattered the broken glass herself. She also mentioned having a second gun in her car, adding that if she had intended to shoot him, she would have used that firearm instead. The woman was read her Miranda rights, agreed to speak with detectives, and reiterated her revised story. Ultimately, she was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. She was transported to DeKalb County Jail for booking.
