On October 14th, 2022 Police from the Maroochydore Highway patrol unit conducted patrols of Teewah Beach in Noosa Northshore and observed a vehicle allegedly performing “doughnuts” in the vicinity of campgrounds. The vehicle was intercepted and the 23-year-old male driver from Loganlea allegedly returned a Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) of 0.102%. He was charged with driver without due care and attention and mid-range drink driving and is due to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on November 14th. Police continued their targeted crackdown at Teewah the following night with the assistance of National Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) rangers, directing 40 vehicles and 80 campers to pack up camp and leave the beach area. Disappointingly, officers also attended three crashes, all of which alcohol played a factor. One crash was due to a vehicle rolling over whilst performing “doughnuts”. A noise direction was given to one large gathering after police received multiple complaints relation to disruptive behaviour and dangerous driving. 0:00 - Dashcam 0:31 - Bodycam
