In February 1999, a mother, her teenage daughter, and a foreign exchange student arrived near Yosemite National Park expecting a peaceful holiday. Within days, they vanished without a trace. What began as a routine missing persons case slowly transformed into one of California’s most haunting murder investigations. As police chased dead ends, questioned hotel staff, and combed dangerous terrain, a single discovery shattered all hope. A burned rental car hidden off a remote highway revealed a calculated attempt to erase evidence. Even more unsettling, someone wanted credit for what they had done. With surviving photographs, disturbing letters sent to the FBI, and suspects emerging from the local criminal underworld, this case exposed how quickly innocence can be overtaken by violence. This documentary follows the investigation step by step, showing how patience, chance, and one chilling message finally led authorities to the truth behind the Yosemite murders.
