On October 22, 2024, at 6:16 PM, law enforcement was dispatched to a residence regarding a disturbance between two males. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the complainant in the driveway, who reported that his soon-to-be ex-brother-in-law confronted him while he was waiting for a child exchange. The complainant stated he was standing on the step rail of his truck when the other man escalated the situation by kicking the driver’s side door, which struck him with enough force to leave a visible footprint matching the man's shoes. When questioned, the other man claimed he felt threatened but refused to provide details. After being asked to step outside for further discussion, he declined and fled into the house. Officers pursued him, and he was found hiding behind a table. Despite loud verbal commands to stop, the man pushed one of the deputies and struck her with a wooden chair. He attempted to evade capture by throwing a chair at another officer, but they managed to engage him and secure him without further escalation or injury. After the incident, officers established probable cause to arrest him for battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting with violence, and simple battery.
