On Sunday, October 27, 2024, at approximately 3:19 AM, an officer was dispatched to a location where a male subject was demanding a refund and refusing to leave. The officer spoke to the staff at the establishment, who informed him that the male subject was causing a disturbance while insisting on a refund, claiming he did not receive adequate attention and services. As he filled out his refund paperwork, he was uncooperative and argumentative. The officer informed the individual that he needed to either complete the paperwork, leave the premises, or face arrest for trespassing. The individual began to exit the establishment but started yelling insults at the staff. The officer observed him enter his vehicle and approached to address concerns regarding his disorderly conduct and potential intoxication. Despite the officer's repeated requests for the individual to exit the vehicle, he refused. The vehicle moved forward as if attempting to leave, but the individual claimed he was merely parking. The officer then opened the driver's side door and attempted to pull him out. The individual resisted and stated he would move. The officer drew his Taser and instructed him to exit the vehicle, but the individual continued to refuse and accelerated away, striking both officers with his vehicle as he fled. After the incident, the officer returned to his patrol car, activated his lights and sirens, and pursued the individual, who continued at a high rate of speed without regard for pedestrians participating in nearby festivities. Due to the crowded environment, the individual was momentarily lost from sight. The officer advised dispatch of the vehicle's direction and confirmed its details through a positive return. Another officer was able to make contact with the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.
