#bodycam #airport #knowyourrights A Spirit Airlines crew at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport decided one passenger was too intoxicated to fly, asked her repeatedly to leave the aircraft at gate G11, and held the departure when she refused. Deputies boarded, relayed the carrier's decision, and removed her. What followed is more than five minutes of a woman stating over and over that she cannot stand or walk, while officers repeat the command to keep walking. She is handcuffed, questioned by a supervisor beside a patrol vehicle, shackled, and told she is going to jail, while her carry-on bag is opened without the lock code she says she does not know. Who actually had the authority to decide she could not fly, the airline or the police? Does refusing to stand up count as resisting when no punch is ever thrown? Were the supervisor's questions about the flight crew custodial interrogation that needed a rights warning first? This breakdown works only from the body camera transcript and names what the recording can and cannot establish.
