THIS VIDEO IS FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY WHAT HAPPENED: A Clearwater County deputy spotted 75-year-old Dennis Hoie at a Bagley gas station and attempted to arrest him on active felony warrants. Hoie resisted and led officers on a vehicle pursuit that ended when a PIT maneuver stopped his pickup in a residential driveway. As officers tried to remove him, Hoie fired a flare gun toward deputies. A deputy returned fire, fatally wounding Hoie. One officer suffered a minor graze injury. Was this use of force JUSTIFIED?
