On August 1, 2024, Westfield Police Patrolman Donovan observed the driver of white BMW drive through a red stoplight. He initiated a traffic stop a short distance away and the 48-year-old woman backed up a short distance, nearly striking the patrol vehicle. She then pulled into a driveway and drove into the back of the property. Because of her demeanor, Patrolman Donovan asked the woman to step out of the vehicle. Standardized field sobriety tests were administered and the woman was eventually arrested for DUI. The police report indicates she attempted to provide breath samples, but it was deemed a refusal when she could not provide an adequate amount of breath. She received 11 citations (discussed at the end of the video) and was released to a sober adult. Her case is still open and all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
