THIS VIDEO IS FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY WHAT HAPPENED: Detroit police say a late-night traffic stop near 7 Mile and Gratiot on Oct. 21, 2025 escalated after officers pulled over a vehicle for multiple traffic violations. During the stop, a rear passenger resisted being detained, attempted to grab an officer’s weapon, and fled through a drive-thru. Officers pursued on foot, and one officer fired a single shot after the suspect produced a firearm. The suspect was taken into custody, treated for non-life-threatening injuries, and later released from the hospital. Was the officer’s decision to fire justified in this moment?
