🎥 In today's copyrighted documentary, we report on an incident that occurred in Navajo County, Arizona on October 5, 2022. On October 5, 2022, a Navajo County Sheriff's deputy in Arizona pulled over a vehicle for tailgating on a state route. The road is part of a shortcut between Phoenix and Albuquerque and is a known alternative to the interstate. Some drivers use it to skip traffic. Others, according to law enforcement, use it in an attempt to avoid law enforcement on the interstate while moving narcotics northbound from Mexico. Behind the wheel was Jesus Alvarez Fonseca, a Mexican national from Sinaloa. He didn't speak English, so the deputy ran the conversation through a translation app. The driver had no license, no ID, and no passport. The vehicle was registered to a third party with missing details, and the address he gave didn't match what investigators later found on a Western Union receipt in the car. Corridos were playing inside the cabin. The luggage didn't match the two-day visit he'd described. When the deputy asked to search the car, the driver said no. So the deputy walked his K9 partner – “Kilo” — around the vehicle. Kilo the dog — trained on cocaine, meth, heroin, marijuana, and fentanyl — alerted. That gave deputies probable cause to search the car. What they found: roughly 1.3 pounds of fentanyl powder and more than 22,000 fentanyl pills. Investigators put the street value at $660,330. Alvarez Fonseca was arrested and charged with transportation of a narcotic drug, possession of a narcotic drug for sale, possession of a narcotic drug, and taking the identity of another. The case is pending. He is presumed innocent until proven guilty. The full story is in the documentary.
