On May 8, 2025, Yates County Sheriff's deputies in Rushville, New York, were contacted by a 15-year-old girl who wanted to make a report about her father. What followed was an hour-long interview in which she described what she said was a year-long pattern of threatening behavior, intimidation, and repeated inappropriate situations she had been placed in under the family's court-ordered custody arrangement. Her mother, a registered nurse, was present throughout. That same night, deputies drove to the father's apartment. Matthew Healy, 45, of Rushville, was placed under arrest and transported to the Yates County Jail to await arraignment before the Central Arraignment Part. He was charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class A misdemeanor under New York State law.
