Palm Beach County, Florida – On August 4, 2026, police responded to a report of a suspected counterfeit $100 bill being passed at a local restaurant. According to the incident report, a male wearing a cap and face mask allegedly used the bill to make a purchase, received cash change, and then left the business. Employees reported that the man fled on foot as police arrived in the area. Officers located the suspect nearby and attempted to stop him. A foot pursuit followed, and the suspect was eventually stopped with a Taser after officers' commands to stop were not followed. Witnesses at the scene identified the man as the individual they believed had passed the counterfeit bill. The man was subsequently arrested and charged with forgery/uttering a forged or counterfeit bill and resisting an officer without violence.
