On February 7th, 2023, officers responded to a vehicle collision where a car had crashed into a light pole at high speed. The female driver, found with a razor blade in the car, declined medical help but admitted she might have been driving too fast due to following her GPS. She denied recent alcohol consumption but confessed to smoking cannabis the previous night. Despite hesitation and confusion over legal rights, she agreed to field sobriety tests, which she failed to perform satisfactorily, showing signs of impairment. After failing these tests and admitting to past substance use, including cannabis and a shot of whiskey, she was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, DUI of alcohol, and DUI of drugs.
