On August 8, 2025, at approximately 4:18 PM, Arkansas State Police Trooper Billy Puckett observed a green Honda Accord traveling southbound on Interstate 55 near the 3-mile marker in Crittenden County. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt, and the vehicle’s registration was expired. When Trooper Puckett attempted a traffic stop, the driver accelerated instead of pulling over. The pursuit continued toward the 1-mile marker, with the suspect making deliberate moves to prevent a TVI. Trooper Puckett stayed persistent, ultimately finding an opening and making a decisive maneuver on the passenger side, sending the Accord into the bridge barrier. Even then, the driver tried to continue down the shoulder until a final block ended the run. Once stopped, commands were given, and the suspect was taken into custody without further incident. A search of the vehicle revealed evidence of marijuana and alcohol. 📌 Incident Details: 📅 Date: August 8, 2025 🕒 Time: 4:18 PM 📍 Location: I-55 Southbound, Crittenden County, AR 🚗 Vehicle: 2011 Green Honda Accord (TN Plate: BRW7933) 👮 Lead Trooper: Billy Puckett 📌 Outcome: Suspect arrested; vehicle towed; evidence recovered ✔ Pursuit Highlights: Seatbelt violation leads to attempted traffic stop Driver accelerates, weaving to block TVI attempts Successful passenger-side TVI near bridge barrier Final block stops escape down interstate shoulder Evidence of marijuana and alcohol located in vehicle ⚖️ Likely Charges (Pending Final Filing): Felony Fleeing Reckless Driving 1st Possession of Controlled Substance (Schedule VI 4 oz) DWI 1st Refusal to Submit to Chemical Test Open Container of Alcohol Drinking on Highway Improper Lane Usage Speeding 1-15 MPH Over Limit Driving with Suspended Registration No Liability Insurance No Seatbelt #PoliceChase #ArkansasStatePolice #TrooperPuckett
