Please like, comment, and SHARE! 🙏 🔍 Episode Overview: Around 2:08 a.m. on January 25, 2025, Sergeant Michael Jordan of the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office saw a 2004 Toyota Camry make a bad turn. It pulled out of the Taco Bell lot at 425 NE Stadium Way. He pulled the car over and talked to the driver, Amanda Davis. While chatting, he smelled booze on her breath. Her words came out slurred. He asked how much she'd drunk. She said two drinks earlier that night. Sergeant Jordan took her papers back to his cruiser. He radioed Deputy Alex Peterson to handle the DUI check. Peterson showed up soon after. He told Amanda to step out of the car. She paused, then got out. He suspected she was drunk, so he asked her to do sobriety tests. Amanda said she bartends at The Coug. She claimed she could drive fine. First came the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus test. Peterson saw all six signs of trouble. Next was the Walk and Turn. She missed heel-to-toe steps. Her turn was off. She took the wrong number of steps. Last was the One Leg Stand. She didn't lift her foot right. She skipped counting by one-thousands. After the tests, she got a chance for a PBT. It showed 0.169% blood alcohol—over twice the 0.08% limit. The bad turn, booze smell, failed tests, and PBT sealed it. They arrested her for DUI. Sergeant Jordan parked her car nearby. Deputy Peterson drove her to Pullman Police Department. There, she wanted a lawyer. She talked to one. Then Peterson read the implied consent warning. She agreed to breath tests. He tried a few questions. She stayed quiet. Her first breath showed IR 0.165 and EC 0.163. The second hit IR 0.149 and EC 0.147. Peterson took her to Whitman County Jail next. A corrections officer took her in. They booked her, cited her for DUI under RCW 46.61.502, and let her go until court. 7:40 Does back pain from bartending count?
