On February 12th, 2025, police in Schaumburg, Illinois chased down Janelle M. Wer after she tried opening bank accounts using stolen identities. Her confidence quickly unraveled as officers confronted her with evidence—fake IDs, conflicting stories, and camera footage linking her to multiple banks. Despite her lies, deflections, and attempts to play the victim, the truth came crashing down when she admitted one ID was fake. Further investigation revealed she’d been duped by a scammer she met online, who used her photo to create fake IDs and cards tied to stolen identities. Janelle was charged with identity theft and possession of a fraudulent ID—a harsh lesson that blind trust in online schemes can destroy lives. *Video Credits and a Huge Shoutout to:* YouTube Channel: Uncovered ( @UncoveredCrimeYt ) We extend our heartfelt thanks to Uncovered for generously providing this wonderful and amazing police bodycam footage to the community.
