This dangerous pursuit on the M25 was put to a close in the early hours of the morning. Thankfully no one was hurt or killed. The vehicle was first reported driving dangerously and failed to stop for multiple police units. It was later seen travelling at extreme speed, including through a 20mph limit in South London and on the wrong side of the carriageway near roadworks where workers were present. The vehicle continued onto the A23, M23, and M25, reaching speeds in excess of 130mph. During the pursuit, the driver was also observed using nitrous oxide (NOS) balloons and switching vehicle lights off, increasing risk to the public and officers. TPAC (Tactical Pursuit and Containment) tactics were authorised as specialist roads policing units took over the pursuit in an unmarked vehicle. A stinger deployment was successfully carried out near Cobham Services. Tactical Contact was authorised to bring the pursuit to a safe conclusion. The driver was arrested at the scene and later convicted at Guildford Crown Court for dangerous driving and fail to stop, receiving a 12 month custodial sentence, driving disqualification, and fines. On Scene brings viewers closer to real-world policing through the bodycams of Metropolitan Police officers in London. Experience real incidents as officers arrive, assess, and respond. Offering transparency and context, the series helps inform and educate the public about events that impact London's communities.
