On February 23, 2024, Loveland police officers were dispatched to an automobile accident where the vehicle had fled the scene. Based on the amount of damage to a traffic sign and fire hydrant, officers knew the vehicle could not have traveled very far. Officers located a damaged vehicle in a nearby parking lot. The vehicle contained two females sitting in the front seats. Officer Bibelhausen made contact with the 20-year-old driver who initially lied about the origin of the front-end damage. She eventually admitted to consuming alcohol, but she refused to perform standardized field sobriety tests, saying she wouldn't be able to pass them. She was immediately placed under arrest for DUI. At the police station, she made numerous attempts to submit to an evidential breath test, but each time she failed to provide an adequate amount of breath. She was cited for Operating a Vehicle Impaired (OVI), Refusal to Submit to Testing, and Failing to Exercise Reasonable Control. On March 12, 2024, she pled guilty to the OVI charge and the other 2 charges were dismissed. She was fined $375 plus court costs, ordered to attend a 3-day Driver's Intervention Program, and her license was suspended for 1 year. In addition, she was placed on probation for 2 years.
