Late in the evening on September 23, 2023, officers with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) observed a 2021 BRP personal watercraft (jet ski/PWC) operating without navigational lights in the Intracoastal Waterway near Jupiter Inlet, Florida. Officers stopped the rider for the alleged boating safety violations. During the contact, officers reported signs consistent with alcohol consumption. The operator, Lauren Lila (23), stated she had two drinks and was asked to complete field sobriety exercises, which officers said she did not pass. She was then arrested on suspicion of Boating Under the Influence (BUI). Officers reported finding empty alcohol bottles on the watercraft. She was transported to the Palm Beach County Main Detention Center, where officers said she refused to provide breath samples. She was released the next morning pending court proceedings. Citations/charges noted by officers included: Boating under the influence (BUI) Refusal to submit to blood/breath/urine test Operating a PWC at night No operational navigational lights No boater ID card ⚠️ Important: An arrest is not a conviction. This video is shared for informational and educational purposes based on the recorded encounter. #FWC #Bodycam #BUI #BoatingUnderTheInfluence #Florida #JupiterInlet #IntracoastalWaterway #JetSki #PWC #BoatingSafety #FieldSobrietyTest #BreathTestRefusal #PalmBeachCounty #LawEnforcement #ArrestFootage
