Officers Arthur Gant, Edward Rilho, Brianna Marchetti, and Sergeant Kyle Boturla arrived fast. The cars were a 2009 Toyota Camry, a 2006 Audi, and a 2017 Volkswagen Jetta. Officer Gant checked on the Audi driver first. She said the crash hurt her. Officer Marchetti talked to the Volkswagen driver. First responders checked the Audi driver right there. She skipped the hospital trip. Sergeant Boturla approached the Toyota Camry driver, Julia. He smelled booze on her breath. He saw signs she was drunk. Officer Gant asked Julia where she came from. She said her aunt's place in Rumson, heading to Lavallette. He asked about drinks that night. She owned up to three beers around 6 p.m. They suspected she drove impaired. So they had her do roadside sobriety tests. Gant had her say the alphabet from A to Z. She skipped G and stopped often. Next came the one-leg stand. She didn't lift her foot right and lost count midway. Then the walk-and-turn test. Julia missed heel-to-toe steps. Her turn was all wrong. Sergeant Boturla did the eye test, Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus. He saw all six clues of impairment. He told Gant right away. The crash, her booze admission, and bad test results led to her arrest. They held her car twelve hours under John's Law. Officer Gant drove her to the station for booking. There, they read her the breath test rights. Julia refused to blow. They finished processing her. Then she sat in a cell until someone could take her. She called friends but got no luck. Her aunt finally came and signed the liability warning. Julia went home with her, awaiting court. Officer Gant gave Julia tickets for driving under influence, breath test refusal, reckless driving, careless driving, and no driver registration. Records show Julia's prior DWI arrest in Lakewood on June 28, 2020. She piled up many traffic tickets in New Jersey before that. After this bust, she got tickets for driving on a suspended license in Brick, Lavallette, Toms River, and Brielle. 2:59 The multiple side eyes💀 3:00 lololol I absolutely love when people talk to each other using just intense facial expressions 9:11 Smuggity smirk speaks volumes. 17:01 Yeah honey, you can’t do the alphabet in those shoes either 18:00 is that the cops heartbeat?!
