On February 13, 2026, a Sunrise, Florida Uber driver called 911 after his passenger left her two children — ages 3 and 4 — in his backseat and never came back. The driver told officers the woman appeared intoxicated, grabbed his phone to cancel the ride, handed him $10, and said she'd return in three minutes. Two hours later, she was found at a shopping plaza 2 miles away. Emily Sabogal, 32, was charged with child neglect without great bodily harm and two counts of desertion of a child. She was released after posting $3,000 bond. Body camera footage courtesy of the Sunrise Police Department.
