A woman had left the Firkin Tavern. She was intoxicated. Her vehicle was a white Jeep. Miller spotted the Jeep. It drove south on Pennington Road. It was near Slocum’s Bowling Alley. The car matched the report. It was swerving. Miller turned on his lights. He wanted to stop the Jeep. The vehicle stopped at Olden Avenue. Miller got out to talk. The driver tried to speed away. A short chase followed. The driver pulled into a Taco Bell lot. It was at 1760 Olden Avenue. Officers approached the driver. They identified her as Victoria. They told her to get out. Victoria said she was going home. She had just left work. Officer Miller smelled alcohol. He saw signs she was impaired. He asked Victoria to do tests. Lieutenant Richard Herbe began testing. He started with the HGN test. Next was the Walk and Turn test. Victoria could not finish it. The last test was the One Leg Stand. Victoria failed to lift her foot correctly. She nearly fell several times. Officer Martin arrested Victoria. She broke traffic rules. He smelled alcohol on her. She failed the sobriety tests. She was charged with drunk driving. Her Jeep was towed. It would be held for 12 hours. This was under John’s Law. Officer Martin took Victoria to the police station. At the Ewing Township station, Victoria was read a statement. She refused breath tests. After processing, she was released. Her brother signed a form. He took responsibility for her. Victoria must appear in court. Victoria received several tickets.
