Officers in Orange City, Florida arrived at the local RaceTrac gas station before the employee in question did. She was late to work. For nine days in January 2025, she had been voiding cash transactions after customers paid and pocketing the money — approximately $970 in total. Loss prevention flagged the pattern during an audit and called police. When the woman finally clocked in, she walked directly into the back office where the officer and management were reviewing the CCTV footage. The officer confirmed her identity on camera. A few moments later, he walked out and placed her under arrest. At the jail, money fell from her waistband during intake.
