On August 13, 2024, Akron Police Officer Riley stopped a motorist for allegedly traveling 53 miles per hour (MPH) in a 35-mph zone. The 38-old-year woman refused to provide her ID and repeatedly asked for a supervisor. Backup officers arrived and pleaded with the woman to provider her ID. When she continued to refuse, Officer Marcum shattered the car window and removed her from the vehicle. The entire time she insisted she did nothing wrong. She was transported to the county jail, where she spent the night and was arraigned the next morning on a charge of Obstructing Official Business.
