The Akron Police Dept responded to a call about a suspicious person. Upon arrival, the officer saw the suspect, Daniel Washington, walking in the middle of Kling Street. The officer stopped him and obtained his information, discovering Washington had prior warrants. When instructed to turn around, Washington refused and ran away. Despite warnings, he fled and evaded the officer's attempts to use a Taser. Washington entered a residence at Kling St, but eventually came out and surrendered. He was handcuffed, read his Miranda rights, and stated he ran because he disliked the officer's approach and believed he had no warrants. Washington was treated on the scene, charged with obstruction and jaywalking, and transported to SCJ.
