On June 23, 2023, officers responded to a hotel parking lot in Spalding County, Georgia after the driver of a wrecked car called dispatch to report the accident herself — and was heard on the radio saying she would not be arrested. Officers arrived to find a 2014 Nissan Altima at the side of the road with both front airbags deployed and nobody inside it. A corporal walking the building heard movement in the bushes and found two women running through the woods away from the scene. One was caught in the trees. Her sister made it as far as the hotel before she was stopped. What began as a crash with no driver became a night of two women giving two different accounts of who had been behind the wheel. Officers determined she was too much of a flight risk to stand at the roadside for field sobriety tests and offered a preliminary breath test instead. She blew .170 — more than twice Georgia's legal limit. She was booked into the Spalding County Jail on willful obstruction of law enforcement officers, DUI, failure to maintain lane, and hit and run. Her sister, who backed up her story, was taken into custody on a principal summons for misdemeanor obstruction. 📌 What do you think?
