On November 28, 2024, deputies stopped a pickup truck after learning the Florida license plate attached to the vehicle had been reported stolen. When officers made contact with the occupants, they immediately began investigating both the stolen tag and possible criminal activity connected to the vehicle. To assist with the investigation, deputies deployed a K9 around the truck. 🔴 What happened during the stop? Bodycam footage captures the K9 giving a strong alert on the vehicle, indicating the likely presence of narcotics. When questioned, both occupants denied possessing drugs or knowing why the dog had alerted. However, deputies soon located suspected drug paraphernalia, including cut straws containing residue and other suspicious items inside the truck. As the search continued, officers became increasingly suspicious of the female passenger after noticing what they believed to be unusual behavior and inconsistent answers. Deputies suspected she may have concealed contraband on her person before the traffic stop was initiated. 🟢 Search and discovery: Female deputies conducted a more thorough search while repeatedly giving the woman opportunities to be honest about whether she was hiding anything.
