It really helps us do original reporting like this. 🔍 Episode Overview: On February 19, 2024, a hit-and-run was reported. It happened at the Villas Fishing Club on Pennsylvania Avenue. Patrolman Steven Gindville went to the scene around 3:19 PM. Surveillance video showed what happened earlier. At 2:51 PM, a woman entered a red 2008 Ford F-150. She backed into a parked 2013 Nissan Altima. Someone asked her to stop, but she drove away. While Gindville spoke to a witness, he got new information. The pickup truck driver was coming back. Patrolman Gindville questioned the Nissan's owner, recording her details. Corporal Matthew Gamble arrived at 3:24 PM. He told Gindville the suspect was inside. Gindville entered the club and found Alexandra. He led her to the parking lot. There, he could speak with her. At first, Alexandra lied. She claimed her partner drove the pickup before they went home. Corporal Gamble warned this could turn into a crime. Alexandra knew the security video would expose her lie. She changed her story and said she drove the truck. Police asked if she had been drinking. Alexandra admitted to drinking alcohol before driving. Suspecting she was impaired, police asked her to do sobriety tests. She agreed. Gindville began with the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus test. Next, Alexandra tried the Walk and Turn. She failed to touch heel-to-toe with each step. Gamble stopped the test early. He worried about her safety. The final test was the One Leg Stand. It also ended early, again due to safety concerns. Alexandra crashed her truck. Surveillance video showed her driving. She admitted to drinking alcohol. She failed the sobriety test. Police arrested her for driving under the influence. After the arrest, police found her truck. It was in a Cape May driveway. They impounded it for 12 hours under John’s Law. Patrolman Gindville took her to the police station. She would be processed there. Alexandra agreed to the breath test at the station. Officers finished their work and released her to a sober adult. This release awaited her court date. A Potential Liability Warning form was signed for her. She then got several citations. These included operating under the influence. Reckless driving was another charge. She also failed to report an accident. Finally, she left the scene of an accident. This accident involved damage to an unattended car. The court documents tell the story. On May 7, 2024, her DUI charge changed. It became reckless driving instead. She admitted guilt to the new charge. Her license was taken away for a month. She also had to pay $240 in fines.
