On 07/09/2020 at approximately 1727 hours, I was traveling east on West Solomon Street. While traveling on West Solomon Street, I observed a green motorbike with the Monster logo on it fail to stop at a stop at the intersection of North 18th Street and West Solomon Street. I also observed a yellow motorbike fail to stop at the same stop sign as well, as it was driving on the wrong side of the roadway as it was traveling north on North 18th Street. I activated my emergency lights and siren to initiate a traffic stop. Both drivers looked over their left and right shoulder and begin fleeing initiating a vehicle pursuit. I gave pursuit of the vehicles as the continued to flee. During the pursuit, I observed both drivers fail to stop at the stop sign at North 18th Street and West Broad Street. Both drivers continued fleeing and turned onto West Broad Street from North 18 Street. Both drivers driving at excessive speeds while actively fleeing. Thy drove in a reckless manner and placed the safety of the motoring public at risk. The driver on the yellow motorbike drove down the wrong side of the roadway while the driver on the green motorbike drove on the right side of the roadway. While actively fleeing, the driver on the green motorbike drove on the sidewalk on West Broad Street at North 14th Street. The driver on the yellow motorbike stayed on city streets turning left off West Broad Street onto North 14th Street. The two motorbikes split up on North 14th Street. The green motorbike traveled north on North 14th Street and the yellow motorbike traveled east on Wright Street. I made the decision to pursue the yellow motorbike instead of the green motorbike. The pursuit traveled east on Wright Street where the driver failed to stop at another stop sign and traveled northwest onto Experiment Street. Once on Experiment Street, the driver drove down the centerline with vehicles on both sides of the roadway. While traveling northwest on Experiment Street, the driver then made a hard-right traveling north onto North 13th Street. I continued to give pursuit of the driver on the motorbike. The driver made a right on the wrong side of the road from North 13th Street onto Turner Street. The driver continued to flee, and at the end of Turner Street to fast and almost lost control of the motorbike. The driver immediately gained control of the motorbike and made a left in someone’s backyard cutting across a grassy field. Once I observed where the motorbike was traveling, I drove my patrol car between two houses where I positioned my patrol car next to a driveway so I can be seen from the roadway. Once I was back on the roadway, I observed the motorbike in a ditch in the field and the driver limping away towards the woods. I notified Troop D communications that the driver was now on West Cherry Street. I ran over in the field with my issued Glock 45 drawn at the driver telling him to stop and to get down on the ground. Once I observed more of the area, I instructed the driver to walk towards me while still displaying my issued Glock 45 towards the driver. The driver followed my instructions and once the driver was in proximity, I instructed the driver to get down on the ground, the driver was taking his time getting down on the ground. I helped the driver get down on the ground by using my right hand to help guide him down to the ground. Once on the ground, I placed my right knee on his back only to holster my weapon. Once my weapon was holstered, I immediately transitioned my body off the driver and placed him into custody. The driver was later identified by himself as Anajay Ventavious Johnson with a date of birth of /2002. Mr. Johnson was taken into custody by Georgia State Trooper TPR Williams 819. I transported Mr. Johnson to the Spalding County Jail with no further incidents. All charges associated with this event will be handled by TPR Williams 819.
