On May 24, 2025, Shorewood Hills Police Officer Maginot observed a vehicle allegedly traveling 63-miles-per hour (MPH) in a 30-MPH zone. The vehicle also failed to stop at a red light. Officer Maginot initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, which was being driven by an 18-year-old woman. She denied several times that she had consumed any alcohol, even though beer was in plain view in the back seat of her vehicle. She was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests and she was ultimately arrested for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI). She refused to consent to a blood draw so a blood search warrant was obtained. At the hospital, she underwent an evaluation by a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE), which included blowing into a portable breath testing device. After the blood draw, she was released to the custody of her mother. Her charges and the outcome of her case are discussed at the end of the video.
