On August 30, 2023, Rumson Police Patrolman Camilleri stopped a 34 year-old female motorist who was allegedly failing to maintain her lane of traffic. The woman, who did not have her driver's license with her, immediately mentions that her father is a NYPD officer. She also admits to consuming alcohol. She was asked to step out of her vehicle to perform standardized field sobriety tests (FSTs), but not before she has the opportunity to call her aunt to come to the traffic stop. While waiting for another officer to arrive to continue the FSTs, the woman calls her father for advice and assistance. She keeps her father on speaker phone while she completes the FSTs. She is eventually arrested for DUI. While being transported to the police station, she becomes very concerned about being in the police vehicle alone with the male officer. Once she is at the police station, she refuses to submit to an evidentiary breath test. Her father arrives at the police station and mentions that his daughter is a teacher and is being considered for a principal's position. He is relieved to find out that unlike New York, DUI in New Jersey is a non-criminal traffic violation.
