Fresno Police have released bodycam and security camera footage from a June 1, 2025 incident involving 23-year-old Andrew Garcia. Officers say Garcia, who was on parole, fled from a previous traffic stop days earlier and claimed he was armed. When police tried to arrest him at his southeast Fresno home, he pointed what appeared to be a handgun, got into a dark-colored sedan, and crashed through multiple backyards and fences in an attempt to escape. An officer fired at Garcia but missed. The chase ended in a tense standoff, where crisis negotiators convinced him to surrender peacefully. No one was injured, and a replica handgun was recovered near his vehicle. Garcia now faces multiple charges, including felony vandalism, resisting arrest, and parole violation.
