Please like, comment, and SHARE! 🙏 🔍 Episode Overview: At 12:31 PM on August 29, 2024, Waldwick police got a call about a red SUV. The car was swerving and driving poorly on E Prospect Street. A witness named Robert O'Hara followed the SUV to a home. He saw the driver get out and stumble inside. Officers Thomas Zachmann and Luke Jimenez went to the house to check it out. They found a red 2017 Lincoln MKC in the driveway. It was empty. Officer Zachmann spoke with a woman named Helene Soldano. She said she drove the car. The officer smelled alcohol and saw she was impaired. Helene said she drank vodka earlier that day. She refused to do sobriety tests. Sergeant Michael Sinclair arrived and took a statement from the witness. Because of the witness, the smell of alcohol, and her refusal to test, police arrested Helene for DWI. Citywide Towing took her car for a 12 hour hold. Officer Zachmann took her to the police station. At the station, she was read her rights but still refused to give a breath sample. Police processed her and took her home. Her 80 year old mother signed a liability form to take her in. Officer Zachmann gave Helene five tickets. These were for driving under the influence, refusing a chemical test, consent to take samples, reckless driving, and careless driving. Court records show Helene was found guilty of DWI and refusing the chemical test on March 24, 2025. Her license was revoked for one day. She spent 12 hours at a driver resource center and used an ignition interlock device for three months. She paid 1,080 dollars in fines. A plea deal dropped the other three tickets.
