🎥 In today's documentary, we report on an incident that occurred in Albuquerque’s notorious “War Zone” neighborhood on January 4, 2025. On that morning, a Bernalillo County Sheriff's deputy on patrol near Central Avenue in Albuquerque's War Zone — an area deputies describe as known for sex work and human trafficking — observed two suspected working girls step out of the back seat of a rental car. The deputy stopped the vehicle and then later attempted to provide help and assistance to the women – who were having none of it. The driver, Jeremiah Draper, told the deputy he had no ID and shifted his account of where he lived from California to Las Vegas, Nevada. The entire stop unfolded with his mother listening on speakerphone. Draper came with an interesting alibi – he insisted to deputies that he’s not a pimp, he’s a “john.” Seemingly aware of the more serious charges that come with promoting prostitution – aka pimping. Inside the car, deputies noted clear plastic high heels and unopened condoms in the back seat. Draper was carrying $1,400 in $100 bills and two cell phones — a combination the police report describes as consistent with promoting prostitution. After Miranda rights were read, Draper told the deputy on camera that he was a "trick" — a street term for a customer of working girls. The two women were detained and interviewed separately. Court records show all three were linked to the Fresno/Clovis area of California, and that a phone number connected to Draper had appeared on online classified ads for commercial s*x services dating back to September 2024. Draper was arrested for soliciting prostitution and promoting prostitution – then booked into the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Detention Center. Later that evening, according to the police report, one of the women — who had earlier told deputies she barely knew Draper — called the lead detective and asked how much it would cost to bail him out. In September 2025, prosecutors dismissed the charges against Draper. He was not convicted of any crime in this case, despite the fact that Draper himself admitted on camera to soliciting the women. The full story is in the documentary.
