On April 14, 2024. Highway Patrol officers were dispatched to the parking lot of M P Materials Mine in Mountain Pass California, for a report of a man yelling and throwing keys at a woman in a grey minivan with Minnesota license plates. When the officer arrived on scene the suspect immediately jumped into the driver's seat of the minivan and refused to cooperate with the officer's commands and eventually fled the scene onto Interstate 15 northbound at speeds up to 115 Mph. The Suspect eventually pulled over to the shoulder near mile post 183.00 where he exited the van and was placed under arrest without further incident and then medically evaluated by San Bernardino County Fire Department (Baker Station). A San Bernardino County Sheriff's Deputy transported the female half (Victim) from M P Materials to the scene where her statement was obtained, and the Honda minivan was released to her. The Driver Steven Vincent Pierce was transported to the Barstow area CHP Office and a blood sample was obtained PER 23612 VC (Implied Consent) before he was transported to the High Desert Detention Center for Booking on the following charges: 11550(A) - Use/Under Influence Controlled Substance 2800.2(A - Evasion - Wanton Disregard for Safety 23152(F) - Drive While Under The Combined Influence Of Drugs And Alcohol CHP Officers: Officer E.
