On September 20, 2023, Union Township Police Officer Hoess was patrolling the parking lot of the Kroger grocery store, running license plates of vehicles in the parking lot. The license plate of one vehicle allegedly came back to a different make and model, so Officer Hoess made contact with the 41-year-old woman who was in the vehicle. She couldn't find her vehicle registration, so she was detained in the back of Officer Hoess' vehicle. Officer Hoess then initiated a search of the vehicle after finding out the woman was driving on a suspended license. Officer Hoess also claimed he could smell burnt marijuana in the vehicle. The vehicle search resulted in Officer Hoess discovering a white powder in the woman's purse. Immediately after handcuffing the woman, she tried to flee, but Officer Hoess quickly grabbed her and body checked her into the back of his police vehicle. She was transported to the Clermont County Jail, where she was charged with numerous violations. Her exact charges and the outcome of her case are discussed at the end of the video.
