Patrolmen Fernando Saint-Hilaire, Christian Sisco, and Omar Hernandez arrived at the home and spoke with the woman's parents. Though they struggled with a language barrier, the mother explained that her daughter had stopped sleeping and taking her psychiatric meds. Patrolman Saint-Hilaire entered the bedroom and met the daughter, Susan Chai. Susan was paranoid. She told the officer someone wanted to kill her. Because of her state of mind, the police decided to take her to a hospital. When they told her the plan, Susan kicked Patrolman Saint-Hilaire in the groin. Officers quickly handcuffed her and led her to a patrol car. Patrolman Saint-Hilaire took her to the police station for processing. She was charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer. Police took her to the hospital first for an evaluation. She was released and booked into the Bergen County Jail the next day. She was then granted pretrial release until her court date. Court records show that on January 6, 2026, a judge downgraded the assault charge to a disorderly persons offense. Judge James Sattely gave Susan two years of probation and no jail time. Susan had a prior arrest for possession in Englewood, New Jersey, on August 12, 2019. If you enjoyed this BodyCamBust video.
