A woman in Tennessee discovers someone used her credit card to place a Texas Roadhouse pickup order at a location hundreds of miles away. She calls the restaurant. Officers set up and wait. An eighteen year old arrives to collect the order, gives a fake name, and tells officers a friend gave him the card. He admits he knew it was not his. He is charged with misuse of a credit card and theft by deception. The car in the parking lot comes back registered to him. The food was thrown out. This video examines the elements of credit card misuse under Texas law and why the defendant's own statements establish the required knowledge, why a false name during a lawful detention creates an additional charge, the right to call a parent during a police investigation and when it actually applies, and how a pickup order placed under a fake name became a straightforward prosecutorial case. Nothing in this video is legal advice. We are not practising attorneys. All commentary is for education, awareness, and accountability. Channel. Proof On Record.
