On July 23, 2025, officers attempted to stop a vehicle traveling 75 MPH in a 55 MPH zone, but the driver ignored emergency lights and sirens, initiating a six-mile pursuit that reached speeds of 88 MPH. Throughout the chase, the suspect was observed laughing and waving at the officer's camera and allegedly attempted to ram a marked squad car before the pursuit ended in a trailer park. The driver initially refused to exit the vehicle, only complying after an officer threatened the use of a taser. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed suspected cannabis and a prescription bottle containing suspected controlled substances. The driver failed multiple field sobriety tests and was charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault to a Peace Officer, Aggravated Fleeing, and DUI, ultimately requiring a medical evaluation by local fire district personnel before being transported for further clearance.
