🚨 Effingham County deputies & judges don’t play. On April 28th, 2022, a pursuit unfolded when William Morris Jr. refused to stop for deputies. What started as a traffic violation escalated fast — with Morris swerving past road workers, going through a school bus stop while kids were unloading, and nearly hitting a deputy's patrol vehicle. Once stopped, deputies found a glass pipe, cocaine, and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. He refused a blood test and was booked on multiple charges including felony fleeing, reckless driving, and possession of cocaine. On February 13th, 2023, a jury found Morris guilty on all counts except DUI. He was sentenced to 10 years in Georgia state prison, with no probation and no parole. 👀 Effingham doesn’t mess around.
