The vehicle drifted into parking spots. Officer Caitlin Perry followed it. She saw the driver stopped in a turn lane. The car then turned. It sped past the limit. It kept swerving across lanes. Officer Perry turned on her lights. She stopped the car near Kindred Market. She met the woman driving. Her name was Lacie. Officer Perry smelled alcohol. Lacie wore a wristband. Perry asked if she drank. Lacie said she had three drinks. She drank at Casa Neuva earlier. Officer Perry suspected impairment. She asked Lacie to take some tests. Officer Perry began a specific eye test. During it, the officer saw Lacie's eyes move strangely. They did not follow smoothly. They also jerked. The next test involved walking a line. Lacie did not walk heel-to-toe. She used her arms to balance. The last test required standing on one foot. Lacie did not lift her foot right. She put it down too soon. Her bad driving, the alcohol smell, her own words, and failing the tests led to arrest. Officer Perry arrested Lacie for OVI. Perry took Lacie to the station. At the station, Perry read a form to Lacie. Lacie agreed to a breath test. Officer Ethan Doerr used the breath machine. The results showed a BAC of 0.184. This was over double the legal limit. After processing, Lacie's friend picked her up. She would face a court date.
