On July 17, 2025, Flagler County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the Miller's Ale House after an anonymous caller reported a woman slumped over the wheel of a vehicle in the parking lot. Deputy Rainey arrived first and made contact with a 58-year-old woman, who was seated in the driver's seat of a vehicle with the engine running. Deputy Rainey asked the woman for her driver's license, but the woman refused several times. When Sgt. Bell arrived, the woman was removed from the vehicle and handcuffed. Sometime during the encounter, the woman defecated on herself. She was eventually arrested for Driving Under the Influence (DUI) and Obstruction. At the jail, she refused to perform field sobriety testing and she refused to provide a breath sample. Her case is still open and all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
