On Tuesday March 21st, 2023, at about 6:10 PM, Officers with the Dalton Police Department observed a silver sedan traveling at a high rate of speed and tagged the vehicle doing 52 miles per hour in a 35 mile per hour area. The officer activated his blues in an attempt to get the driver to pull over. However, the driver increased speed and blew through a red light. The officer turned on his sirens and tried to keep up with the silver sedan but was forced to slow down due to a red light and oncoming traffic. When he eventually caught up, he saw a red Subaru with heavy damage on the side of the intersection. He then spotted the silver sedan not too far ahead, with a busted front wheel and a cloud of smoke pouring from the vehicle. After fleeing the scene of the accident, the suspect, later identified as Kevin Reale, was found slumped over in the driver’s seat of his Chevy Malibu with New York Plates. Mr. Reale was arrested on a list of no less than 7 charges and or violations combined. He was held at the Dalton Police Department on $2,540 bail and transported to Pittsfield District Court the following morning for arraignment. He is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
