On November 26, 2023, Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Blackwood observed a vehicle commit numerous traffic violations. He initiated a traffic stop and stated that he could smell alcohol emanating from the vehicle. He instructed the 20-year-old driver step out of the vehicle. He asked her if she had consumed any alcohol and she initially said no. She then admitted that she had consumed 2 glasses of wine. She was asked to perform field sobriety tests, which included reciting the alphabet from the letter "E" to the letter "O". The woman, who stated she was a teacher, skipped the letters "F" and "G". After refusing to submit to a portable breath test, she was arrested and transported to the Bowling Green police station. She submitted to an evidential breath test and the result was 0.075% BAC. She was charged with Operating a Vehicle Impaired (Underage) and Failing to Use Turn Signals. On January 24, 2024, she pled guilty to an amended charge of Underage Alcohol Offenses. She was fined $400 plus court costs and she was placed on probation for 1 year.
