#CrimeCamNow On December 6, 2022, a Doraville police officer responded to a call at Mighty Tidy Carwash in Doraville, Georgia, regarding a shooting incident. Upon arrival, the officer observed a black male sitting near a dumpster, clutching his hand. The victim explained that he didn't know who shot him and urgently needed an ambulance. He recounted that a man had approached him, saying “I need that,” before shooting him, though he was unable to provide a description of the assailant. The officer immediately called for an ambulance and provided first aid to the victim. Shortly after, AMR arrived and the victim was taken to a local hospital. Officers then interviewed witnesses, who provided a description of the suspect and reported that he ran toward a nearby QuikTrip gas station. The officer visited the gas station to review surveillance footage; although the footage was limited, it did offer some details. A K-9 unit was deployed to search the area, and eventually the suspect was found hiding in the bushes behind a nearby business. He was arrested without incident. A search of the suspect did not reveal a firearm. When questioned about the missing gun, he refused to answer, prompting officers to conduct a thorough search of the area. Unable to locate the weapon immediately, detectives continued questioning the suspect. After several hours, the suspect agreed to cooperate and was brought back to the scene to show exactly where he had discarded the weapon. The firearm was recovered and taken into evidence.
