Police were dispatched to a local business after receiving a call about an employee who was allegedly intoxicated, attacking staff, and throwing items around the office. Upon arriving, officers found the employee in a highly agitated state and attempted to de-escalate the situation by asking her to order a ride home. Instead of leaving peacefully, the individual began behaving disruptively and shoved an officer in the chest. As officers tried to escort her from the building, she violently resisted, kicking at a coworker and the officers in the hallway. The escalating struggle required officers to perform a takedown to safely secure the individual and prevent further injury. The incident resulted in the employee being arrested and facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges. These charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. An arrest is not a finding of guilt: that’s something for a court to decide.
