Visit my channel "Clinton Jaws" former cop. NYPD Chief of Department Terence Monahan said warrants officers staking out a house near 182nd Place and 144th Avenue for a suspect wanted for allegedly shooting four people on September 20 saw a man fitting that suspect's description leave in a vehicle. According to Monahan, when officers tried to stop that vehicle, the vehicle fled, but collided with another vehicle less than a mile later. The man then fled on foot, according to Monahan, and was chased by the warrants officers to the vicinity of 181st Place and 144th Street, where other in-uniform officers and members of the 113th Detective Squad arrived as backup. Monahan said the man then displayed two handguns, and after being told to drop the guns by officers (which Monahan said could be heard on body cameras), instead fired at least four times. Officers then returned fire and struck the suspect, Monahan said. The man who was shot was pronounced dead at Jamaica Hospital. Two guns were recovered at the scene, police say.
