Sidney Police Department October 25th, 2021 --- Officers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol became aware of a stolen Richmond, Indiana police cruiser. A trooper attempted to pull over the vehicle when he sped off at high speeds through the City of Sidney. The driver was identified as 32 year old Mitchell Timothy Gard. Officers were initially concerned that he may have taken the rifle in the car, they were unable to get the trunk open to verify that claim. --- Mitchell was indicted on the following charges - ORC 2921.331(B) - F3 - Failure to Comply with Order or Signal of Officer - ORC 2913.51 - F4 - Receiving Stolen Property Mitchell was found not competent to stand trial at the moment and was sent to the Northwest Ohio Psychiatric Hospital in Toledo, Ohio.
